Welcome to ESP

The Extended School Program (ESP) provides a safe, educationally enriching, fun and rewarding experience for all students of Murfreesboro City Schools. Our students have the opportunity to attend a variety of enrichment classes after school. We offer a wide range of classes including but not limited to sports, music, arts and crafts, woodworking, ballet, hip hop dance, cheerleading, cooking, journalism, science, technology, foreign languages, robotics, and many more. We also provide our students with homework assistance and tutoring in specific subjects. Please feel free to contact the site director at your child's school with any questions that you may have. We look forward to meeting your family and assisting with your before and after school needs in anyway we can.

*Offer after-school and summer academic assistance to identified students.

*Provide opportunities for expanded experiences in the areas of fine arts, music, science, technology, language arts, math, recreational sports, health and wellness, and other targeted areas of interest to students.

*Provide a variety of life and cultural activities through field trip experiences.

“Snow days”

Murfreesboro City Schools Extended School Program (ESP) desires to serve working parents who depend on ESP for
their childcare needs during inclement weather – snow days.  However, we are aware that there are times when safety
may cause ESP to adjust its hours or to close completely.

If school opens late, ESP will open at 7 a.m. at your home
school.  If school is dismissed early because of weather, ESP
will operate from dismissal until 5 p.m.

If school is closed for the entire day due to the weather, ESP
will operate at FIVE locations with condensed hours,
from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Those sites and schools served will be:

Black Fox (serving families from Discovery and Black Fox)

Bradley (serving families from Hobgood and Bradley)

Mitchell Neilson (serving families from Mitchell-Neilson Elementary,
Mitchell-Neilson Primary and Erma Siegel)

Northfield (serving families from John Pittard, Reeves-Rogers and Northfield)

Scales (serving families from Cason Lane, Overall Creek and Scales)

Registration information and notification is required before attendance.

After children are in ESP, if weather conditions worsen and
the Director of Schools determines that ESP needs to close
