RISE 21st Century Grant

RISE is a scholarship opportunity provided to qualifying students through the Extended School Program. Funds for this program have been received as part of the 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) grant program through the Tennessee Department of Education and the U.S. Department of Education. To qualify for a grant scholarship, the school principal, counselor, or classroom teacher must refer a student and meet the criteria listed below.

Students must meet at least 2 or more of the listed conditions:

- At risk for failing one or more subjects

- Already behind at least one grade level in one or more subjects

- Receives Special Education services through an IEP

- At risk of going into state custody

- Qualify for free/reduced lunch

- At risk of educational disadvantage/failure due to circumstances of abuse, neglect, or disability

- Homelessness 

21st CCLC RISE grant students will receive guided academic assistance in reading and math with the opportunity to participate in music, art, physical education, and other enrichment activities.

The following sites are part of the RISE program: Black Fox, Bradley, Cason Lane, Hobgood, John Pittard, Mitchell-Neilson, Northfield, and Reeves Rogers. For more information about the RISE program, please contact your school's ESP Site Director.
